Employee Oriented

Employment Agreements favoring the employee document the fixed commitments of the employer and minimize the scope of employee obligations. Such agreements document compensation, benefit policies, salary review schedules, expense reimbursement policies, stock option rights, savings and retirement programs and favorable employee dispute resolution procedures. Assignment of intellectual property rights, acknowledgements of trade secrets, patent assignments and copyright acknowledgements usually do not work to the advantage of the employee (unless the rights are being assigned to the employee). Similarly, employees will want to negotiate for narrow noncompete and customer solicitation restrictions.
