The Trademark Application suitable for filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("PTO") consists of three basic parts. The application itself requires information concerning ownership and use of the mark. Attached to the application is a drawing of the mark. A suitable specimen showing actual use of the mark in interstate commerce is also required. A completed certificate of express mailing is also recommended to establish the PTO Application receipt date with objective certainty.
